|Manicure cosmetic beauty treatments for the hand and nails apparently began 5000 years ago while French manicures are thought to have originated in 18th Century Paris, first becoming popular in the 1920s and 1930s.|
I have chosen the Mavala range of nail colours as they are of an exceptional quality and have an eye towards nail care in all of their range. In practise, they have proven to be long lasting with some of my pedicures lasting four weeks and more without chipping. (But that isn't a promise for every pedicure!)
All Mavala nail polishes are toluene free, formaldehyde free, and phthalates (DBP) free. They were also voted the Best Nail Colour Brand in the Natural Health Beauty Awards for 2010 for the rich colours that are hard wearing, long-lasting and free of toxic nasties. In addition to the Mavala range of varnishes and nail care, I use Neal's Yard skin care products including Melissa Hand Cream, Melissa Hand Polish, Comfrey and Mallow Foot Balm and Pumice Foot Scrub and a range of washes.
Bite your nails or know someone who does? With regular manicures you can help turn around the habit and end up with beautiful nails. However, you might also want to consider Bio Sculpture Gel® nails which can be built onto bitten nails and provide a mainly unsatisfactory solid surface to nibble. It can take several sessions of gel nail applications to reveal your own beautiful nails growing well.
